ERNEST is planning to “legalize country music” in more than a dozen cities on his fall headlining tour, the Nashville, Tennessee-born singer-songwriter announced on Tuesday morning (May 28). ERNEST will kick off “The Legalize Country Music Road Show” in early September in Vancouver, Canada, and will continue throughout the U.S. through the fall.
“The Legalize Country Music Road Show” follows ERNEST’s highly-anticipated sophomore album, titled as a nod to his hometown, which released last month. NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE is a 26-track project packed with star-studded collaborations — including Jelly Roll, Lukas Nelson, Morgan Wallen, Lainey Wilson, HARDY, plus a live recording of “Twinkle Twinkle” with ERNEST’s 3-year-old son, Ryman Saint — aiming to “legalize country music.” ERNEST announced the project after staging a press conference to announce his mayoral campaign. That video included nods to music legends Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn, George Strait and George Jones.
“I was born and raised in Nashville,” ERNEST said in a statement when his album released. “I love this city, it's the country music capital of the world, and this album is a positive affirmation in the name of country music. That country at its core, the songwriting and storytelling, is popular again.”
