A network representing five Palm Beach County hospitals is suing a nonprofit that ranks healthcare facilities.

Tenet Healthcare's Palm Beach Health Network has filed a lawsuit against Leapfrog, for publishing what it calls "misleading and harmful" hospital safety ratings. "D" and "F" grades were given to Delray, Good Samaritan, Palm Beach Gardens, St. Mary's and West Boca Medical Centers in the Fall 2024 survey and Tenet calls those grades "deceptive."

The suit says that the facilities were punished for not submitting data to Leapfrog's voluntary survey.

But Leapfrog claims the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services' results show the hospitals have preventable suffering and death figures that are higher than the national average.
